Serving as the centerpiece of Frates's work in Ecuador, Centro Desideri was built in 2003 and dedicated to the memory of Franco Desideri, the husband of Annalisa Saccà Desideri. Frates's Centro Desideri is located on the fringe of the rain forest near the town of Puyo. It consists of four buildings: a dormitory for volunteers, a bathroom with showers, a central meeting room with kitchen facilities, and a dispensary. People come to the Center for educational programs, medical and first aid supplies, community activities, and meals.
This is where the bread is baked in wood ovens, and the medicinal garden is also located nearby.
